To commemorate the United Nations International Youth Day in 2023, the Carrington Fellowship Network is inaugurating the #CarringtonYouthWeek. The #CarringtonYouthWeek is a week-long platform for young people within the Carrington Fellowship Network to organize, host, and volunteer in various forms of activities that will positively impact their local communities.

The annual #CarringtonYouthWeek is a period to rekindle the principle of volunteerism and the ideals of Ambassador Walter Carrington: inclusive healthcare, accessible education, civil liberties, and good governance, and economic empowerment. The #CarringtonYouthWeek is a week where young people within the Carrington Fellowship Network across Nigeria dedicate time to volunteering for community development.

Volunteerism is a unifying force that brings people together, breaks local and global barriers, establishes trust and friendship, and opens endless doors of opportunities. The #CarringtonYouthWeek challenges young people to do volunteering activities both offline or online, as long as it impacts their immediate community and the world at large.

The Carrington Youth Week is to only commemorate International Youth Day, but also celebrate the ideals of Ambassador Walter Carrington, who died on August 12, 2020. The 2023 #CarringtonYouthWeek will run from August 7 – 13, 2023, providing opportunities for young people across Nigeria and beyond to impact others and their communities.
